BSc Hons Physical Activity and Health Science Sports Massage Diploma Cert 4 Personal Trainer National Pool Lifeguard
"I am passionate about providing optimal treatment to enhance sports performance and recovery, as well as physical and mental health."
I graduated from University in 2022 in Edinburgh, Scotland, with a BSc Honours degree in Physical Activity and Health Science and a Diploma in Sports massage. Whilst I was studying, I was working as a Personal Trainer, Sports Coach and Pool Lifeguard, with the addition of Sports Massage Therapist after graduation. I continued working for a further 6 months before moving to Australia in 2023 with the ambition of travelling and gaining some further experience working in the sports industry.
Throughout my time working as a Sports Massage Therapist, I have had the opportunity to work with both athletes and the general public. Sports massage can help to prepare athletes for games and events, and enhance post event recovery. I use a combination of hands-on techniques as well as cupping, laser heat treatment and strapping to treat a variety of conditions including muscle strains/tears, muscle tightness, lower back pain, headaches/migraines, and many more.
I have always been involved in sport from a young age, and through my own experiences have learned that the human body requires recovery and rest to be able to perform at its best and for training to be effective. Therefore, I am passionate about providing optimal treatment to enhance sports performance and recovery, as well as physical and mental health. I want to enable patients to be more aware of their own wellbeing and recognise their own bodily requirements.
Outside of work, I enjoy running and going to the gym, and love to challenge myself by entering races and events including 5k, 10k, half marathons and Hyrox. I love being outdoors, going for walks and catching up with friends over coffee or brunch. I have loved travelling around Australia and hope to continue exploring more countries, as well as visiting my family back in Scotland!
